Indian Army inaugurates Kickboxing training infrastructure at Hamid Chara AGS, Chandigam

Srinagar: After the success story of class 7th student Tajamul Islam from Army Goodwill School (AGS), Bandipora winning gold medal in under 14 category at world kickboxing championship held at Cairo in Egypt, many students approached school administration of Hamid Chara AGS, Chandigam for similar kind of infrastructure in their school. 

In order to shape the future generations in various sports disciplines and to provide the best infrastructure for overall development, Hamid Chara AGS, Chandigam inaugurated the Kickboxing sports infrastructure in the school premises. 

Shakir Ahmad Dar, a renowned kickboxing trainer from Charkut, who himself has participated in various national & international events, has been hired to nurture the best sportsman in the field.

Kickboxing is classified in the group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate mixed with boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defence, general fitness, or as a contact sport.

The children including both boys and girls will be provided with quality training in martial arts that will help them for self defense apart from producing best sportsmen in Kickboxing sports. Students of all age groups are participating in training with enthusiasm.
