Srinagar: Kashmiri people seem to have taken serious note of their health concerns and nutritional diet. People enthusiastically took part in two recent events of blood donation drive and nutritional diet of expecting mothers.
District Hospital Handwara in collaboration with local blood donors on Thursday organised a blood donation camp at the District Hospital Handwara in which more than 30 units of blood were collected. According to the local media, young blood donors of the area donated the blood on the occasion.
Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Aijaz was chief guest on the occasion and he thanked all the blood donors for the noble cause and said the blood donation camp process will be continue in future to save the precious lives. Meanwhile, in-charge blood donation bank Handwara Samiullah Muslim said that 30 units of blood were received during this blood donation camp.
Meanwhile in order to sensitize the society for involvement in curbing malnutrition among children, expectant mothers, lactating mothers informative sessions were conducted in Handwara.

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme project Rajwar Supervisors along with block Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) held sessions for mothers and Adolescent Girl’s (AGs) about nutrition and healthy diet.
Senior supervisor at the headquarters Abida War conducted the sessions in order to create awareness amongst participants regarding the collective role of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), AWWs and community members to minimize the graph of malnutrition in the society.
