All affected people will be compensated after they provide bank account numbers

Navi Mumbai: Raigad District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary on Sunday clarified that those affected by the June 3 Nisarg cyclone who have not provided their bank account numbers or have given wrong bank account numbers have not been compensated
Many people from Raigad district who had got affected from the Nisarg Cyclone which hit the district on June 3. Following which the Maharashtra government held Panchanama to assess the damage caused and allocated Rs.100 crore as compensation for the affected people on 10th June, 2020.
When asked by thenews21 about some affected people still not having received their compensation Raigad District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary who said that, “Till date many people who were affected from Nisarg Cyclone got compensated. As Rs. 373 crore allocation has been provided to Raigad District for the same. Anyone who has been affected and has not received the compensation, are those who did not provide their bank account numbers and also those who have provided the wrong bank account numbers. We have appealed to all the affected persons to help us with their bank account numbers or right bank details. Soon after receiving the details we will compensate them too.”
Earlier on June 10Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced the compensation of Rs.5000 to each person who were affected due to the Nisarg Cyclone. He also added that based on damage assessment the government will compensate Rs. 15,000 each to the people who slums were damaged. The State Government has offered Rs.4 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased.
On one hand Raigad District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary informed that the compensation were not given to some affected persons because of they not providing bank account numbers or wrong bank account numbers but on the other hand the Raigad District Information Officer Manoj Sanap said that, “We haven’t received any Nisarg Cyclone related information from the department despite repeated attempts.-By Abhitash D.Singh
