But now there are reports which have shown that the virus can be spread through asymptomatic corona positive patient.
Currently, in Mira Bhayander 90 percent of people are treated as asymptomatic which means they don’t show any symptoms or very mild symptoms. “The main source of corona cases in Mira Bhayander is from Mumbai. Most of the people who are infected have come from Mumbai. And around 90 percent of cases which in Mira Bhayander are asymptomatic,” said BMC commissioner Chandrakant Dange.
Even Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has said that almost 80 per cent of the COVID-19 cases in India are asymptomatic or at best with very mild symptoms.

In an interview to IANS, the Health Minister said, “Even today, in almost 80 per cent of the cases of COVID-19, which are being reported in India, the patients tend to exhibit either nil or mild symptoms. These patients are mostly contacts of confirmed cases. Interestingly, had it not been for our contact tracing efforts, and left on their own in isolation, these patients may not have even remembered or reported their infection.”
So what one can do
If you get to know that you have been in touch with an asymptomatic carrier of the disease, you must quarantine yourself for 14 days, without fail. This will ensure that you do not spread the virus to those around you.
Avoid stepping out of the house, except for absolutely essential chores and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other people. Do not forget to wear face coverings and cover your nose and mouth properly. People in the high-risk category (older adults and those above the age of 50 and have serious underlying medical conditions) need to take extra precautions.
