Uddhav defends son Aditya’s electoral plunge, but Netizens take it otherwise

Mumbai: As Netizens, especially Twitterati began trolling his son Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray, it was left to his father and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray to defend his sons plunge into electoral politics. “Aditya is really working whole heartedly. Shivsainik’s have accepted him. He is now the responsibility of the Shivsainik’s. Whenever, such things have happened the Sena has not opposed it. I am not going to say because Aditya is contesting the elections. This is elections and all the youth need to join politics and join the government”

Ever since Yuva Sena president and Thackeray scion, Aditya Thackeray announced his arrival on the electoral political stage, Netizens, especially Twitterati trolling the Sena cub over his multi-lingual campaign hoardings and the Sena agreeing to the pre-poll pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Hoardings of Aditya Thackeray in Gujarati, Telugu and other regional languages has been trolled on social media with critics lashing out at the Sena for abandoning the cause of the Marathi Manoos.

There are some die-hard fans and traditional Sena voters who have not taken it kindly to the Sena accepting to be the younger brother of the BJP and Sena abandoning its Marathi Manoos card by going for multi-lingual campaign hoardings.

The common retort from the Netizens has been that leave aside the Shiv-Vadapav and have some Khaman-Dhokla for now. While the other trending troll is over the Sena accepting to contest fewer seats, a role reversal from being the big brother to now accepting to be the younger brother to the BJP. Angry Netizens want to know as to what did the BJP offer “Dhokla and Faffda?”

There is another trending topic which is Aditya Thackeray as Rahul, the video clip of journalist Anjana Om Kashyap terming the Thackeray scion as soon to be another Rahul Gandhi. The journalist later apologized for her inadvertent remarks which was later compensated by the news channel with a interview of the Yuva Sena chief.

There have been some who have harped on the fact that the Thackeray scion has broken the family tradition of not entering electoral politics. Sources disclosed that backdoor talks are on with Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) urging it not to field any candidate against Aditya Thackeray in Worli. The matter was discussed in the Thackeray family circles and the heart strings of the estranged uncle were tugged a bit to let the nephew have a safe, smooth passage to the legislative assembly.
