J&K Assembly Autumn Session: BJP, Congress Call Legislature Meetings to Finalise Strategy

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress will hold separate legislature party meetings on Sunday as political parties prepare for the upcoming autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

The BJP meeting will be chaired by Leader of Opposition Sunil Kumar Sharma and is expected to focus on the issues the party plans to raise during the Assembly session.

Speaking about the meeting, Sharma said, “We are holding a meeting of MLAs tomorrow.”

The BJP leader has been travelling across Jammu and Kashmir and holding discussions to gather feedback on governance and issues affecting residents. He indicated that the party would use the Assembly session to seek explanations from the government on matters concerning the public.

“We will seek answers from the government for every promise they made to the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” Sharma said.

The Congress has also scheduled a meeting of its legislators at the party headquarters in Srinagar on Sunday.

Senior Congress leader and chief whip Nizamuddin Bhat confirmed that the meeting would take place at 5 pm.

“The legislators of the Congress party are meeting tomorrow at 5:00 PM,” Bhat told news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The meetings are expected to help both parties finalise their approach and identify key issues ahead of the Assembly session. The BJP is likely to focus on government accountability and public concerns, while the Congress will discuss its legislative strategy before the House proceedings begin.
