Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman after the Centre released ₹19,208 crore to the state as an advance instalment of tax devolution. The Chief Minister said the financial assistance would enhance the state’s fiscal strength and accelerate development initiatives.
Sharing his reaction on X, Yogi Adityanath described the Centre’s decision as an example of cooperative federalism and appreciated the timely financial support extended to Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi Highlights Spirit of Cooperative Federalism
In his post, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister for approving the advance release of funds.
“Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji for releasing Rs 19,208 crore to Uttar Pradesh as an advance installment of tax devolution. This timely support reflects the spirit of cooperative federalism,” Yogi Adityanath wrote.
Funds to Boost Infrastructure and Welfare Schemes
The Chief Minister said the additional allocation would provide a significant boost to the state’s development agenda by strengthening its financial resources.
“This step by the Central Government will further strengthen the state’s financial capacity and provide fresh momentum to development works, infrastructure creation and public welfare initiatives. We are all committed to working together to build a stronger and more prosperous Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
The advance tax devolution is expected to support the state’s ongoing infrastructure projects, public welfare programmes and other developmental activities.
