Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday acknowledged the response received from young people following his recent address on examination reforms, thanking them for sharing constructive suggestions and assuring them that the government remains committed to protecting students’ future through stronger legal measures against paper leak rackets.
In a short video message shared on social media, the Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the overwhelming engagement with his earlier address, saying the interaction with students and citizens had further strengthened his resolve to improve the examination system.”Thank you, friends. He added that the support and participation of young people continue to strengthen the government’s connection with the country’s youth.
Government Moves Ahead With Tougher Anti-Paper Leak Framework
The Prime Minister’s latest message follows his announcement that the Centre is preparing a stronger legal framework to curb examination-related fraud.
He had earlier revealed that the government has directed departments to prepare legislation providing legal backing for fast-track courts and tougher punishment for those involved in organised paper leak operations.
According to Modi, the proposed legislation is aimed at ensuring quicker investigations, speedy trials and stricter penalties so that future examination frauds can be dealt with more effectively.
PM Says Students’ Future Is Government’s Top Priority
Highlighting the government’s response to the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, Modi said protecting students from losing an academic year was the administration’s immediate priority.
He noted that authorities moved quickly to conduct fresh examinations for nearly 22 lakh candidates, ensuring that the academic calendar remained on track. The Prime Minister also pointed out that the accused in the alleged paper leak cases had already been arrested and were facing legal proceedings.
Reaffirming the government’s stand, Modi said that ensuring the welfare of students remains paramount and warned that those attempting to damage the future of India’s youth would face stringent legal consequences.
Political Debate Continues Over NEET Issue
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid continuing protests and political debate over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. Opposition parties have continued to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and have sought a detailed discussion in Parliament on examination reforms and accountability.
Meanwhile, the Centre has maintained that it is focusing on institutional reforms and legislative action to prevent similar incidents in the future, with the proposed amendments expected to be taken up during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.
