Amid heightened tensions during the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) ‘Chalo Sansad’ protest in the national capital on Monday, a delegation from the organisation met Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda to press its demands related to the alleged NEET-UG 2026 examination irregularities. The meeting came as thousands of protesters gathered near Parliament, where security forces stopped the march with heavy barricading.
Following the meeting, CJP leaders said they had conveyed all their demands to the Union Minister but claimed that the government had not given any firm commitment on their implementation. They maintained that their agitation would continue until concrete action is taken.
CJP Says Government Heard Their Demands
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das shared details of the meeting on social media, stating that he and fellow representative Ashutosh Ranka met JP Nadda at his residence to discuss the ongoing protest.
“Ashutosh Ranka and I have been at J.P. Nadda’s residence since 12 noon. The demands have been conveyed, including immediate resignation/sacking of Dharmendra Pradhan. The Minister assured us he will discuss this at the appropriate level. However, no commitments have been made so far. The peaceful protesters will not rest until the demand is met!” Das wrote.
According to the CJP, the meeting was an opportunity to place the concerns of students directly before the government, although the organisation acknowledged that no final decision had been communicated.
Three Major Demands Placed Before JP Nadda
The delegation also submitted a written memorandum outlining its primary demands. The organisation sought the immediate resignation or removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging failures in handling examination-related issues.
The memorandum further demanded that activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, be allowed unrestricted movement and released from what the organisation described as unnecessary restrictions.
In addition, the CJP called for compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide following the examination controversy. The delegation also urged the government to ensure that police refrain from using force against peaceful demonstrators.
CJP Levels Fresh Allegations Against Education Ministry
In its memorandum, the organisation accused the Education Ministry of failing to address repeated examination-related controversies.
“The youth of this country believes that Mr. Pradhan has completely failed in his capacity as the Education Minister of India. He is directly responsible for multiple paper leaks, including NEET 2026, and other exam fiascos, most recently being CBSE 12th portal chaos and CUET exam delay. Due to the NEET paper leak, 21 students (as per our records) committed suicide.”
The memorandum further stated, “Multiple exams have either leaked, been delayed or faced technical errors in recent times, but there have been no systemic corrections / action taken / intent by Mr. Pradhan, indicating his gross incompetency as the Education Minister.”
Protests Continue Outside Parliament
The meeting took place while demonstrations continued across central Delhi during the first day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session. Protesters attempting to march towards Parliament were stopped near Parliament Street after police erected multiple layers of barricades.
Security remained on high alert throughout the area as protesters insisted they would continue their campaign until the government responds to their demands.
