Woman Alleges Husband Avoided Physical Relationship Since Wedding
A woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur has filed a police complaint alleging that her husband never consummated their marriage despite being married for nearly two years. She has further accused him of refusing medical examination and later harassing her for dowry.
Police have registered an FIR against the husband and several members of his family based on the complaint.
The couple got married in Lucknow on November 19, 2021.
According to the woman, her husband allegedly avoided physical intimacy from the very beginning of their marriage, repeatedly assuring her that he was undergoing medical treatment and that their marital relationship would become normal after completing his medication.
Fertility Test Allegedly Refused
The complainant alleged that after growing suspicious over the prolonged lack of physical relations, she took her husband to a private hospital for medical consultation.
According to her complaint, the attending doctor advised the husband to undergo a fertility examination by providing a sperm sample. However, she alleged that he refused to take the test.
She further claimed that whenever she urged him to seek treatment or questioned his refusal, tensions escalated within the family.
Dowry Demand and Assault Alleged
The woman has also alleged that her husband and his relatives demanded ₹5 lakh from her family.
According to the complaint, she was allegedly assaulted and forced out of her matrimonial home after raising questions about her husband’s refusal to undergo medical treatment.
She claimed that her in-laws told her not to return unless she brought the demanded money.
Police Register FIR
Following the complaint, police registered an FIR on July 12 against the husband, his mother, brother, sister and another family member.
The investigation is currently underway, and police have not yet disclosed whether any arrests have been made. The allegations made in the FIR are part of the ongoing investigation, and the accused will have an opportunity to present their version during the legal process.
