AI Engineer Stabs Girlfriend to Death, Dies by Suicide on Railway Tracks in Gurugram

Woman’s Family Alerted Police After Losing Contact

A suspected murder-suicide has shocked Gurugram after a 25-year-old software professional was found dead on railway tracks hours after his girlfriend was discovered with fatal stab injuries inside his paying guest accommodation.

The incident surfaced when the woman’s family informed police that they had been unable to reach her for an extended period. Acting on the complaint, investigators traced her last known location, leading them to a PG accommodation in Sector 55.

Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine what led to the deaths and are examining the couple’s relationship, digital records and other evidence.

Woman Found Dead Inside Sector 55 PG Accommodation

After reaching the location, police questioned nearby residents, who reportedly said they had not noticed anything unusual. Officers then entered the room, where they found the woman lying dead with multiple stab wounds.

Bloodstains were found across the room, indicating a violent assault. A forensic team later examined the crime scene and collected physical evidence to assist the investigation.

The deceased woman has been identified as Ishara Ayubi (25) from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.

Railway Track Death Linked to PG Crime

While investigating the case, officers found that the Government Railway Police had earlier recovered the body of a man who had been struck by a train near Garhi railway station.

The deceased was identified as Shreshth Malik (25), an AI engineer originally from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, after police recovered his mobile phone. Investigators subsequently connected his death with the woman’s killing.

Police suspect Malik died by suicide after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, though the investigation remains ongoing.

Couple Worked Together and Recently Began Living Together

According to preliminary findings, both individuals were employed by the same private company in Gurugram. Investigators said the woman had moved into Malik’s PG accommodation only a few days before the incident.

Officials are examining whether any recent developments in their relationship may have contributed to the tragedy.

Police Examining Phones, Chats and Digital Evidence

Confirming that the investigation is continuing, Sector-56 SHO Inspector Manoj Kumar said: “We are investigating every aspect of the case. The nature of the relationship between the two individuals and the reasons behind the incident would only be revealed once the investigation is complete.”

He further added: “The police are also examining their mobile phones, call details, chats, and other technical evidence. An FIR of murder has been registered, and further investigation is underway.”

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive, stating that conclusions will only be drawn after forensic analysis, witness statements and digital evidence have been reviewed.
