NTA Rejects NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak Claims, Warns of Legal Action Over Viral Telegram Post

Viral Social Media Post Triggers Fresh Controversy

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has dismissed allegations of a NEET UG 2026 question paper leak after a social media post claimed that the exam paper had been sold through a private Telegram channel before the examination.

The controversy began after a user identified as Moh Muzzamil shared a video and images online, alleging that the NEET UG question paper was sold for around ₹25,000 to more than 100 students through a private Telegram group. The post quickly gained attention and sparked concerns among candidates and parents.

NTA Calls the Allegation Baseless

Responding to the viral claim, the NTA categorically denied that there had been any confirmed paper leak. The agency said the question paper ID visible in the circulated image would be verified to identify the candidate to whom the paper had originally been issued during the June 21 examination.

The examination authority also stated that fabricated videos and misleading content circulated on Telegram or other social media platforms amount to spreading false information and could invite legal consequences.

Agency Warns of Criminal Action

The NTA cautioned that creating or sharing fake videos related to the examination is a criminal offence and said appropriate action would be initiated against those found responsible for spreading misinformation.

The agency urged students and parents not to believe unverified social media posts and advised them to rely only on official announcements regarding the examination process.

No Evidence of Paper Leak So Far

The examination authority has maintained that there is no confirmed evidence of any paper leak in NEET UG 2026. It reiterated that the viral allegations are currently being verified and appealed to candidates to avoid forwarding rumours that could create unnecessary panic.
