PM Modi Delays Convoy Exit From Delhi Airport to Keep NEET Aspirants Free From Traffic Hassles

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to remain at Delhi Airport on Sunday instead of immediately heading to his official residence, a decision aimed at preventing traffic congestion for thousands of students travelling to NEET-UG re-examination centres.

Official sources said the Prime Minister landed in the national capital around 1:15 pm, just before candidates were expected to reach examination venues for the 2 pm test. Rather than allowing his convoy to move through busy city routes, he waited at the airport until the examination had commenced.

Airport Wait Meant to Ease Student Commute

According to official information, the Prime Minister’s movement was intentionally delayed to ensure that aspirants heading to their centres were not affected by traffic diversions that usually accompany high-security VIP travel.

“After arriving at Delhi Airport at 1:15 PM today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose to wait at the airport instead of heading directly to his residence.”

Officials noted that the decision was taken keeping students’ convenience as the top priority during one of India’s biggest entrance examinations.

NEET-UG Re-Exam Held Under Tight Security

The NEET-UG re-examination is taking place under one of the most extensive security arrangements ever implemented for the medical entrance test. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has strengthened surveillance and monitoring mechanisms across the country following heightened scrutiny over the examination process.

The test is scheduled from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm, with candidates receiving an additional 15 minutes this year.

Thousands of Centres Across India and Abroad

The examination is being conducted simultaneously at 5,440 centres spread across 551 cities in India, along with 14 international centres. Students are appearing for the examination in English and 12 Indian languages, ensuring accessibility for candidates from diverse regions.
