Gunmen Open Fire at Fitness Centre in West Delhi
A quiet Thursday morning in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar was disrupted when two unidentified men allegedly fired shots at a local fitness centre before escaping from the scene. The attack, which caused damage to the property but left no one injured, has triggered a high-profile investigation after a self-proclaimed gang associate attempted to link the incident to celebrity names.
According to police officials, the shooting occurred at the 24 HRS Fitness gym when two assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire. One of the bullets reportedly struck the gym’s glass facade before the attackers fled.
No Injuries Reported, Police Begin Probe
Law enforcement teams rushed to the location shortly after receiving reports of gunfire. Officers secured the area and launched an extensive investigation to identify the shooters and establish the motive behind the attack.
Investigators are examining surveillance footage from nearby locations, collecting forensic evidence, and speaking to witnesses in an effort to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported despite the firing, preventing what could have been a far more serious incident.
Social Media Claim Adds New Twist
The case gained wider attention after Anil Pandit, an alleged US-based associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi network, reportedly circulated a social media post and audio message claiming responsibility for the firing.
In the message, he allegedly asserted that the gym was connected to Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa and claimed the establishment was targeted because of the singer’s perceived proximity to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
The claims quickly sparked speculation online, given the long-running security concerns surrounding Salman Khan and repeated references to him by individuals associated with the Bishnoi gang.
Police Find No Confirmed Link to Guru Randhawa
Investigators, however, have urged caution, stressing that the claims remain unverified.
Preliminary inquiries by Delhi Police have reportedly found that the fitness centre is owned by a resident of Tagore Garden. So far, officials have not established any direct ownership or operational connection between the gym and Guru Randhawa.
Police are now reviewing ownership records and business arrangements to determine whether the facility has any franchise, branding, or commercial relationship that could explain the claims being circulated.
Focus Remains on Identifying Shooters
With several questions still unanswered, investigators are concentrating on tracing the two motorcycle-borne suspects and uncovering the exact motive behind the attack.
Officials have stated that every aspect of the case, including the social media claims and alleged gang links, is being thoroughly examined. Until verification is complete, authorities have refrained from drawing conclusions regarding the intended target or the individuals named in the messages.
