Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area that claimed at least 21 lives and left several others injured.

Reacting to the tragedy, Kejriwal said he was deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives and prayed for peace for those who died in the incident. He also extended his wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured victims undergoing treatment in hospitals.

Raises Concern Over Frequent Fire Incidents

In his statement, Kejriwal described the recurring fire accidents in the national capital as a matter of serious concern. He said repeated incidents resulting in loss of life highlight the need for greater attention to safety measures and prevention mechanisms.

The former Delhi Chief Minister noted that such tragedies continue to affect families and communities, making it important to ensure accountability and stronger safety compliance.

The fire broke out at a guest house in the Hauz Rani area of Malviya Nagar on Wednesday, triggering a major rescue operation. More than 40 people were evacuated from the building, while many of the victims are believed to be foreign nationals.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining whether the property complied with required safety norms and operational permissions.
