Akhilesh Yadav launches sharp attack on UP government
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav intensified his criticism of the Uttar Pradesh government, alleging a rise in fake encounters, weakening law and order, and growing public distress due to electricity shortages across the state.
Addressing a press conference at the Samajwadi Party office, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that policing in the state was facing serious questions and alleged that several encounter cases were being carried out arbitrarily. He further said that many families had publicly raised concerns over such incidents.
Claims encounters being used to spread fear
Akhilesh alleged that the current administration was using encounter actions to create fear and establish dominance. He also claimed that members of backward classes, Dalits, and minority communities had faced the maximum impact of such actions during the BJP government’s tenure in the state.
Referring to a reported incident involving a priest in Jaunpur, the SP leader said his party had supported the affected family and demanded accountability in the matter.
Hathras reference raised during criticism of law and order
The Samajwadi Party chief also referred to the Hathras incident while attacking the state government over public safety and policing. According to him, the overall law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh had deteriorated significantly and public confidence in the administration was weakening.
He alleged that several incidents were taking place under political protection and claimed that governance in the state was failing to address growing public concerns.
SP chief targets economy and rising inflation
Apart from law and order issues, Akhilesh Yadav also accused the BJP of promoting what he described as a “fake economy”. He claimed that rising prices and the strengthening dollar were increasing the burden on ordinary citizens and affecting household expenses across the country.
The SP leader further claimed that a future Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh could politically weaken the BJP at the national level as well.
Power crisis becomes fresh political flashpoint
Later, in a social media post, Akhilesh targeted the Yogi Adityanath government over electricity shortages and power disruptions in different regions of the state. Taking a swipe at the administration, he alleged that the worsening power situation reflected governance failure and public frustration ahead of future elections.
