In a tragic accident that has left an entire region in shock, nine people lost their lives after a car fell into a well near Shivajinagar on Friday night. The victims included six students and members of the same family, turning a joyful reunion into a devastating loss.
Tragedy Strikes After Reunion Function
According to initial reports, the victims were returning home after attending a reunion event of a private coaching class when the accident occurred around 10 pm.
The car, identified as an Ertiga, suddenly lost control and plunged into a well in the area, leading to a fatal outcome for all occupants.
Rescue Operation Faced Major Challenges
Rescue efforts were launched immediately with teams from the NDRF, local administration, and police working through the night. However, the operation proved extremely difficult due to the depth of the well, water levels, and poor visibility in the dark.
After hours of effort, the vehicle was finally pulled out using a crane, confirming the worst fears — all nine people inside had died.
Victims Belong to Same Village
All the deceased are believed to be residents of Indore village in Dindori taluka. Among them were five members of the same family, identified as Sunil Dattu Dargode, Rakhi Sunil Dargode, Usha Anil Dargode, Shraddha Anil Dargode, and Shravani Anil Dargode, along with four other relatives.

The incident has plunged the entire village into grief, with locals expressing shock over the sudden loss of young lives. The death of six students has especially shaken the community, raising concerns over road safety and infrastructure in rural areas.
