Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated Phase-1 of the Noida International Airport, calling it a major step towards faster connectivity and economic growth in North India.
He said the new airport will significantly reduce pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport and connect the region to global destinations.
“Planes Will Take Off Every 2 Minutes”
Highlighting the scale of the project, PM Modi said that once fully operational, flights will take off every two minutes, showing the massive capacity and future potential of the airport.
He added that India continues to grow rapidly even during global crises, and such infrastructure projects are proof of the country’s strong development path.
Big Push for Western UP Development
The Prime Minister also pointed out that this is the fourth major project launched in Western Uttar Pradesh in recent weeks.
He listed key projects including:
- A semiconductor factory in Noida
- Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat train
- Expansion of Meerut Metro
According to him, these projects are helping transform the region with better technology, transport, and job opportunities.
Focus on Technology and Connectivity
PM Modi said the semiconductor plant will help India become self-reliant in technology, while modern transport systems like Namo Bharat and Metro are improving daily travel.
He stressed that such developments are creating a strong infrastructure base for future growth.
Political Attack on Previous Government
During his speech, PM Modi also criticised the previous Samajwadi Party government, accusing it of neglecting development in Noida.
He said earlier governments treated Noida as an “ATM,” but under the current leadership, it is becoming the engine of Uttar Pradesh’s growth.
