As the ongoing West Asia conflict enters its fourth week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a crucial meeting with Chief Ministers of all states and Union Territories to review India’s preparedness and response strategy.

Elections in these regions are scheduled between April 9 and April 29, with counting on May 4.

Earlier, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security to assess the situation in West Asia and India’s preparedness if the conflict continues for a longer period.
During the meeting, he directed officials to prioritise the safety of Indian citizens and minimise the impact of the crisis on key sectors.
Special attention was given to:
- Ensuring availability of fertilisers for farmers
- Maintaining stable power supply
- Diversifying import sources
- Strengthening export opportunities
Focus on Energy and Supply Chains
A major concern for India is the smooth flow of oil and gas through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical shipping routes.
PM Modi reviewed the situation and instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of energy resources despite global disruptions.
The government is actively working to maintain safe passage for Indian vessels and avoid any shortages in the country.

The Prime Minister has also been in continuous contact with leaders from Gulf nations, pushing for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to ease tensions.
