In a stunning and unprecedented development, Iranian state media has confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed in joint airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel.

The announcement, first reported by Fars News Agency, has sent shockwaves across the Middle East and the global political arena.

Family Members Also Reported Dead

According to Iranian media sources, four of Khamenei’s close relatives — including his daughter, grandchild, and son-in-law — were also killed in the targeted operation. The strikes reportedly hit a heavily fortified compound believed to house senior Iranian leadership.

The development marks one of the most dramatic escalations in the ongoing confrontation between Iran, Israel, and the United States.

Trump Declares “Justice for Iran”

US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to confirm the operation, calling it the “single greatest chance” for the Iranian people to reclaim control of their country.

In a strongly worded statement, Trump described Khamenei as “one of the most evil people in history” and said the strike was “justice for the people of Iran” and for Americans and others killed in past conflicts linked to Iranian-backed groups.

Trump claimed that advanced US intelligence and tracking systems ensured the success of the mission, adding that multiple senior leaders were eliminated alongside Khamenei.

He also alleged that segments of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and other security forces were now seeking immunity rather than continuing to fight.

Netanyahu Hints Before Confirmation

Before Iran’s official confirmation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had suggested that there were “many signs” indicating Khamenei was no longer alive. However, he stopped short of explicitly confirming the death at the time.

Netanyahu had earlier stated that Khamenei’s compound had been destroyed in the coordinated strikes.

Iran Faces Uncertain Future

The reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader represents a historic turning point for the Islamic Republic. Khamenei had held the country’s highest political and religious authority for decades, shaping Iran’s domestic and foreign policy.
