Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly criticised the Congress party on Friday during his address in the state Assembly. His remarks came after a protest by Youth Congress workers at Bharat Mandapam, where an international AI summit is currently underway.

Speaking in the Assembly, Yogi Adityanath said the protest was irresponsible and shameful. He alleged that the incident was aimed at damaging India’s image in front of the global community.
He pointed out that delegates from more than 100 countries were attending the summit and said creating disorder at such a time was unacceptable. He added that political opposition should never come at the cost of national interest and called for firm action against those involved.
What Happened at the AI Summit
The controversy erupted during the India AI Impact Summit, when a group of Youth Congress members staged a sudden protest inside the venue. The protesters removed their outer clothing and displayed T-shirts bearing images and slogans targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while shouting slogans against the central government.
Videos of the incident quickly spread on social media, drawing sharp reactions from political leaders.
Activists Detained by Police
Police detained four Youth Congress activists in connection with the protest. Those held included national office bearers and regional leaders from Bihar, Telangana, and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Officials said the protesters had entered the venue after completing online registration and scanning QR codes, which allowed them access as regular participants.
Police Explain How the Protest Took Place
Additional Commissioner of Police Devesh Kumar Mahla explained that the activists had concealed protest material under sweaters and jackets. Near one of the halls, they removed their outer clothing and began demonstrating by waving the T-shirts and raising slogans.
Security personnel intervened soon after, and the situation was brought under control.
