Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Speculation is swirling over whether Sunetra Pawar, wife of the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, could be sworn in as Maharashtra’s next Deputy Chief Minister. Responding to the rumors, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve clarified the party’s stance.
He said, “There are different parties, Ajit Dada’s party is different, Sharad Pawar’s party is different. We are not aware of their internal matters, nor does the family have any knowledge. So if Sharad Pawar has said something, it is his personal matter.”
On the question of party decisions influencing the Deputy CM post, Danve added, “If it is a party decision, what can we say? The party takes its own internal decisions, and so does the government. If the government has to administer the oath to someone based on a party decision, then neither the government nor the party is at fault.”
These comments come amid rising political tension in Maharashtra following Ajit Pawar’s sudden demise, which has triggered discussions about succession and leadership roles within the state. While various parties are reportedly assessing options, Shiv Sena (UBT) has maintained that it will not interfere in the internal matters of the Pawar family or the Nationalist Congress Party.
