Mumbai: Raymond Group Managing Director Gautam Singhania has lauded Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his aggressive global outreach, saying the state stands to gain significantly from the outcomes of the Davos visit.
Speaking on recent developments, Singhania said, “Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited Davos, and he has done a phenomenal job in terms of the amount of MOUs that he has signed.” He added that the agreements secured during the visit could have long-term benefits not just for Maharashtra, but for the country as a whole.
According to Singhania, the scale and speed at which investment commitments were finalised reflect a strong international confidence in Maharashtra’s economic direction. He noted that such engagements help position the state as a preferred destination for global capital and manufacturing expansion.
Shifting focus to broader economic signals, Singhania also spoke about international trade developments. “As far as the budget is concerned, the EU trade deal is expected to happen tomorrow,” he said, underlining its strategic importance. He described the potential agreement as a turning point that could reshape India’s global trade negotiations.
Singhania further explained that a strong deal with the European Union could have ripple effects beyond Europe. “I think that will be a significant step to bring America to the negotiating table if India gets a very good deal with the EU,” he said, suggesting it may strengthen India’s position in future talks with the United States.
