Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut reacted sharply to the results of the BMC and other Maharashtra civic polls, highlighting the challenges his party faced and taking aim at political rivals within and outside the party.
“We all tried to ensure that MNS seats increased. They won six seats and lost many by a small margin. The same has been the case with Shiv Sena (UBT). The BJP and Shiv Sena have just four seats more than the majority mark. The opposition is strong, and we will not allow Mumbai to be handed over to Adani. We could not make the Mayor because of some ‘Jaychands’ who were in our party. Otherwise, even the hundreds of ancestors of the BJP could not have made their own Mayor. The opposition is strong, and we can change the government (BMC) at any time, but we believe in democracy. Devendra Fadnavis is now eyeing Delhi, dreaming of becoming the Prime Minister and sitting in that chair,” Raut said.
