Dubai: In a shocking incident at the Dubai Air Show on Friday, India’s indigenously-built Tejas fighter jet crashed during an aerial demonstration. The mishap occurred at approximately 2:10 PM local time while the aircraft was performing a routine display for the audience.
Witnesses reported seeing black smoke rising from the crash site as spectators, including families and children, looked on in alarm. Several videos captured by attendees show the fighter jet wobbling mid-air, flipping sharply, and ultimately losing control before hitting the ground and bursting into flames.
Preliminary accounts indicate that the pilot was not observed ejecting from the aircraft. As of now, the Indian Air Force has not released any official statement regarding the crash or the pilot’s condition.
