Patna: A day after the new Bihar government took charge, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar allocated crucial cabinet portfolios, giving the state’s administrative machinery its fresh structure under the NDA leadership.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has been entrusted with one of the most significant responsibilities—the Home Department. His role will include overseeing law and order, policing, and internal security across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha has been allotted the Land and Revenue Department along with the Mines and Geology Department, making him responsible for land administration, revenue collection, and Bihar’s mineral resources.

Senior BJP leader and newly appointed minister Mangal Pandey has received charge of two key sectors—the Health Department and the Law Department. His return to Health marks a renewed focus on public healthcare, while the Law portfolio positions him at the centre of the state’s legislative and legal framework.
Bihar BJP president and cabinet minister Dilip Jaiswal has been given the Industries Department, a crucial portfolio as the government pushes for investment, industrial expansion, and job creation.
