Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Friday dismissed claims of internal factionalism within the Congress-led Karnataka government, asserting that all 140 MLAs are firmly under his leadership.
Addressing reporters, Shivakumar said, “I do not form groups, as it is not in my nature, and all 140 MLAs are under my leadership. With the Chief Minister planning a government reshuffle, it is natural that MLAs aim to become ministers and meet leaders in Delhi. Beyond this, I have nothing further to say.”
Shivakumar’s remarks come amid speculation over a possible cabinet reshuffle by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Political analysts suggest that such reshuffles often trigger movement among MLAs eager for ministerial positions, leading to assumptions of faction-building or dissent.
