Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on its 100th anniversary, praising its long-standing commitment to service, courage, and community support.

Speaking at the centenary celebrations in Nagpur, Modi said, “In 1984, during the Sikh massacre, so many Sikh families took refuge in the homes of RSS Swayamsewaks. This is the nature of the swayamsewaks.”

He highlighted the influence of RSS on national leaders, adding, “Former President Pranab Mukherjee was greatly influenced by the simplicity and dedication of the RSS when he visited Nagpur.”

Modi also recalled the RSS’s humanitarian efforts during natural disasters and crises: “During the floods in Punjab and the tragedies that struck Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Wayanad, swayamsewaks were the first to reach and provide aid. The world saw the courage and service of the RSS during the COVID pandemic.”
