New York: A horrific accident unfolded on an Upstate New York highway when a tour bus carrying more than 50 passengers lost control and overturned, leaving at least five people dead and dozens injured.
According to New York State Police spokesperson James O’Callaghan, the majority of those on board were of Asian origin, including Chinese, Indian, and Filipino nationals. The accident, which took place on a busy stretch of road, sent shockwaves across local communities and international circles.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene within minutes, pulling passengers from the mangled bus. Several of the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, with some reported to be in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, pending family notifications.
Investigators are probing the cause of the crash. Preliminary reports suggest the bus veered out of control before rolling over, but mechanical failure, weather conditions, and driver fatigue are all being examined.
