Aligarh: A shocking murder case has emerged from Aligarh where a 28-year-old man was brutally murdered—allegedly by his wife and her lover—in a chilling conspiracy that has sent shockwaves through the region.
The victim, Yusuf Khan, a porter and resident of Dhansari village under Chharra Police Station limits, was found dead with his hands tied, his stomach stabbed, and his face burned with acid—an apparent attempt to conceal his identity. His decomposed body was discovered dumped near an abandoned brick kiln, four days after his disappearance.
Police officials say that the condition of the corpse was so horrifying that even recognition became difficult. His father, Bhoore Khan, was only able to identify him through partially preserved clothes and slippers.
Cold-Blooded Plot Unfolds
As investigations progressed, a dark plot began to surface. Yusuf’s wife Tabassum and her alleged lover Danish are believed to have plotted the murder together. According to the police, Yusuf had left home on July 29 for work but never returned. His family filed a missing persons report after frantic attempts to locate him failed.
Post-mortem findings revealed clear signs of premeditated murder: hands tied behind his back, fatal stab wounds, and deliberate acid burns on his face and body. Maggots had already begun infesting the body when it was recovered.
From Friend to Killer
Mubeen Saifi, Yusuf’s cousin, dropped a bombshell during police questioning. He claimed that Danish had first approached Yusuf pretending to help him get work. Using this excuse, he frequently visited their home and eventually developed an illicit relationship with Tabassum.
“Yusuf had been suspecting something for weeks,” said Mubeen. “He used to confront Tabassum about long phone calls with Danish. She would brush it off. But clearly, this cost him his life.”
Married for nine years, Yusuf and Tabassum had two young sons—six-year-old Aslan and four-year-old Adnan. Locals say that Tabassum’s recent behaviour had become distant and erratic.
Manhunt Underway
Since the murder, both Tabassum and Danish have gone into hiding along with some of their close associates. Police are conducting multiple raids and have vowed to arrest the accused soon.
CO Sadar Aanchal Chauhan confirmed the case is being investigated on war footing. “We have the post-mortem confirmation, the family’s statements, and we are tracking every possible lead. The crime is heinous and we are treating it with utmost seriousness,” she said.
