Ramgarh: MLA Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal chaired a high-level review meeting in Ramgarh, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma (JKAS) and senior officials from key departments. The meeting focused on ongoing developmental works and public grievances across the constituency.
Dr. Manyal expressed serious concern over delays in road repairs, especially in rural and flood-prone areas. He directed the Public Works Department to ensure time-bound completion, quality execution, and accountability in all projects.
He emphasized proactive coordination between departments and public representatives for effective governance. The Agriculture and Horticulture Departments were instructed to speed up the verification of subsidised machinery and provide timely compensation for damages to polyhouses. Dr. Manyal also proposed setting up a horticulture nursery in Ramgarh to boost employment and local production.
On the education front, he stressed the need to rationalise teacher deployment, pointing out a mismatch between student strength and teacher availability in several schools.
Dr. Manyal also directed the Revenue Department to resolve pending land disputes in Sarwa, Chamliyal, and Mahal, and to identify land for key public utilities including the PMAY housing colony and a grid station at Radi. He raised concerns over delays in processing Displaced Persons (DP) files and demanded swift action from the ADC.
Further, he emphasized the importance of restoring irrigation canals before the upcoming crop season and maintaining regular electricity supply to all villages. He also urged health officials to continue public health outreach under the ICMR’s NCD programme.
Concluding the meeting, Dr. Manyal stated, “People expect responsiveness and efficiency. It is our collective duty to ensure development is transparent, timely, and reaches every citizen.”
