Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Slams AAP Over Officer Neglect, Launches Secretariat Revamp with Cleanliness Drive

New Delhi: In a sharp critique of the previous AAP government, newly elected Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday launched a bold infrastructure and cleanliness initiative under the campaign ‘Delhi Ko Koode Se Azaadi’. Speaking during her surprise visit to several administrative buildings, Gupta expressed deep disappointment over the poor working conditions of government officers.

“This is my first visit here… We will do the cleaning work, but I am very sad to see my officers working in such a dire situation,” said Gupta, visibly disturbed by the state of administrative offices. She directly blamed the previous Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government, accusing them of focusing on personal luxury rather than governance.

“They were so busy constructing their Sheesh Mahal that they didn’t have time to even repair the offices where our officers work,” Gupta said, referring to the controversial renovation of the former CM’s official residence.

Promising swift action, the Chief Minister announced that the government will begin establishing new departmental offices immediately. “We will create modern, well-equipped offices for all departments to ensure a dignified and functional environment for our officers,” she declared. Gupta further announced plans to construct a new, fully-integrated secretariat for Delhi, where each department will have its own dedicated space.

The visit was part of the broader ‘Delhi Ko Koode Se Azaadi’ campaign, an anti-garbage movement launched to tackle the growing waste crisis in the capital. Gupta personally took part in the cleanliness drive, symbolically sweeping the premises to kickstart the mission.
