India Shines at AIAMA World Abacus Championship 2025 in Malaysia, Secures 91 Awards and 2nd Place Globally

New Delhi/Mumbai – India has once again asserted its dominance in the realm of Abacus and Mental Math, clinching an impressive 91 awards at the prestigious AIAMA World Abacus and Mental Math Olympiad Championship 2025 held in Malaysia. With participation from 14 countries and 488 contestants across seven categories, the competition witnessed intense rivalry from nations including Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, and others.

Representing India, 87 young prodigies—trained at Wonder Kidz Learning Academy centers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh—showcased their mental prowess and brought home laurels by excelling in their respective age groups ranging from 6 to 14 years. Their remarkable performance helped India secure the second spot in the overall country rankings, behind Indonesia, which bagged the Best Team Award.

Among the standout performers were Mumbai-based contestants Jay Bhangare, Aadiraj Mestri, Riaan Chandarana, and Ishaan Desai, who bagged the coveted 1st Prize Awards in their categories. Eleven participants earned 2nd place honors, including Spruha Apte, Purva Murudkar, Asmi Sawant, Shrihan Deshpande, Prisha Shivdas, Taksh Kaunder, Vihan Sakharkar, Devansh Lad, Omkar Pawar, Prisha Satam, and Shravya Shirke.

Another 18 students earned 3rd place trophies for their commendable efforts—Aaradhya Patil, Jay Borhade, Avani Borhade, Shrawani Gurav, Aadya Bhatkar, Kaivalya Narkar, Yash Parab, Tirth Harkhani, Kalash Kattulu, Samanyu Mahadik, Advay Patkar, Neeshad Salunke, Shashwat Dasari, Suprabha R Sindhu, Shahid Ghawte, Hitanshi Patil, Ahyaan Sayyed, and Amaan Sayyed.

The achievement is also credited to the dedication and training by Wonder Kidz Learning Academy’s coaches, Mrs. Leena Patil and Ms. Shruti Patil, who were honored with the “Best Coach” award for their unwavering commitment to excellence.

Ashutosh Patil, India’s Ambassador and Council Member of Abacusking, and also the Founder and Director of Wonder Kidz Learning Academy, accepted the two Outstanding Country Awards on behalf of Team India. He lauded the participants for their hard work, discipline, and brilliance, stating that India’s remarkable showing had once again reinforced its status as a global powerhouse in Abacus and Mental Math.

The next edition of the AIAMA World Championship is slated to be held in Taiwan in 2026, where Indian contestants are expected to build upon this success and aim for the top spot.
