Mumbai: A heated exchange erupted in the Maharashtra Legislative Council as Minister of State Shambhuraj Desai and Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Anil Parab locked horns during Question Hour over the issue of housing accessibility for Marathi-speaking citizens in Mumbai.
The confrontation began when Desai was responding to a query regarding the increasing challenges faced by the Marathi community in securing affordable housing in the city. According to the minister, his reply was disrupted by interjections from Parab, leading to a war of words between the two.
“Everything that happened today in the Assembly Hall is on record. I was replying to the first question during Question Hour, which was about the difficulties Marathi people face in buying homes in Mumbai,” said Shambhuraj Desai, addressing the media after the session.
