“Wrong to Say Protest Was Denied”: CM Fadnavis on MNS Mira Road Row

Mumbai: Amid the ongoing controversy over the MNS protest against traders in Mira Road regarding the use of Marathi, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has clarified that the party was not denied permission for the protest.

“It would be wrong to say that we did not permit the protest at Mira Road,” Fadnavis stated while addressing the issue. He explained that the MNS had sought permission for a protest march, but the route they demanded was not feasible due to safety and administrative concerns.

According to Fadnavis, “We were giving them permission for a meeting, but they wanted to hold a protest march on a route where it was not possible to do so. We asked them to take an alternate route, but they did not agree to it.”
