Giriraj Singh Alleges Conspiracy to Malign Nitish Kumar, Blames Political Gang for Rising Crime in Bihar

Patna: Union Minister Giriraj Singh has stirred a political storm with serious allegations of a coordinated conspiracy aimed at tarnishing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s image. Addressing the media on Monday, Singh claimed that a “political gang” is orchestrating criminal activities and spreading fear in the state to create the false impression of rising lawlessness.

“A conspiracy is being hatched in Bihar to defame Nitish Kumar by spreading terror and committing crimes,” Singh said. “Some people are doing this to tarnish Nitish Kumar’s image, and this is about to be exposed. It is happening through a political gang.”

The BJP leader’s comments come amid a surge in political tension in Bihar, with opposition leaders, including RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, accusing the Nitish-led government of failing to control crime. However, Singh hit back strongly, invoking the Lalu Prasad Yadav era, a time often criticized by opponents for lawlessness and criminal-politician nexus.

“What used to happen during Lalu Yadav’s rule? Criminals would hold meetings at the Chief Minister’s residence,” Singh alleged. “And today, Tejashwi Yadav is holding press conferences to defame Nitish Kumar.”

Singh further stated that the administration is actively cracking down on crime and those calling it “jungle raj” are deliberately misleading the public. “Action is being taken here,” he said, referring to recent police encounters and investigations.
