Raigad: Senior leader and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) chief Sharad Pawar made a passionate appeal for a return to social justice-driven governance in Maharashtra. Addressing a public meeting in Raigad, Pawar expressed concern over the current political atmosphere and urged like-minded parties to unite for a common ideological cause.
“The political landscape of Maharashtra is shifting, but unfortunately, many leaders today no longer show interest in the values and principles of social reformers like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar,” said Pawar.
He emphasized the need for a revival of their progressive vision. “Once again, Maharashtra needs a government that stands firmly on their ideals—equality, justice, and upliftment of the backward and marginalized communities.”
Pawar called for the unity of secular and progressive parties in the state to form such a government. “We must bring together the Kisan Mazdoor Praja Party, Congress, NCP, and other parties who believe in these principles. Only then can we create a government that truly serves the people of Maharashtra,” he stated.
