Lucknow: Samajwadi Party MP and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp critique against both the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments on Sunday, questioning their performance over the past two decades.
Speaking to reporters, Akhilesh said, “If we add 11 years of the Central Government and about 9 years of the Uttar Pradesh Government, then the total comes to 20 years. The government will have to give an account of 20 years in which it will tell what it has done for the people?”
The SP leader raised concerns over key development areas, especially education, employment, and investment. “How far we have progressed in the field of education, how successful we have been in providing employment, the investment that we wanted to bring…” he asked, suggesting a gap between promises and delivery.
He also criticized the lack of synergy between the state and central administrations. “There is no coordination between Delhi and Lucknow. It is visible in the scheme that is currently running…” Akhilesh said, though he didn’t name any specific program.
