“CM, DCM, Their Children Took Selfies After Stampede—Isn’t This an Unforgivable Crime?”: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Slams Karnataka Govt

Bengaluru: In a scathing attack on the Congress-led Karnataka government, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Thursday condemned the state’s handling of the Bengaluru stampede incident and demanded accountability from top leaders, particularly Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Speaking to reporters, Joshi said, “If there is a command in the high command, take action against DK Shivakumar first. Rahul Gandhi goes all over the world and talks about everything. He does not know about this incident.”

Joshi sharply criticized the state government for its continued celebrations and public appearances even after the tragedy unfolded near the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where a stampede during IPL victory celebrations claimed 11 lives and injured dozens.

“The government that mismanaged is behaving like a madman. Even after three people died near Chinnaswamy Stadium, the CM, Deputy CM, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and IAS officers were taking selfies near Vidhana Soudha. Isn’t this an unforgivable crime?” he asked.

The Union Minister accused the state leadership of insensitivity and negligence, questioning the continuation of celebratory programs while families mourned the victims.

“Even after 11 people died, the program went on,” he added, expressing shock over the government’s decision not to cancel the IPL trophy event despite the escalating human toll.
