PM Kisan 20th Instalment: Farmers Urged to Complete eKYC, Land Verification Ahead of Upcoming Payment

New Delhi: With the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme expected soon, the central government has urged all eligible farmers to complete their documentation to ensure uninterrupted receipt of the benefit. The last instalment — the 19th — was disbursed on February 24, and preparations are underway for the next round of payments.

Under this flagship initiative, all landholding farmer families across India receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly into their bank accounts. The scheme aims to provide critical income support to crores of farmers to help them meet agricultural and household expenses.

However, to receive the next instalment, beneficiaries must ensure their eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process is completed. Three convenient options are available: OTP-based verification through the PM-KISAN mobile app, biometric verification at State Seva Kendras, or facial authentication via the app itself.

Alongside eKYC, beneficiaries must verify their land ownership details and link their bank accounts with Aadhaar to remain eligible. Those drawing pensions above ₹10,000 or employed in professional roles like doctors and engineers are excluded from the scheme.

Farmers can check their beneficiary status or whether their names are included in the updated beneficiary list by visiting the official PM-KISAN website. The portal also offers options for new registrations and corrections.

The identification of eligible farmer families is overseen by respective State and UT governments. With the upcoming instalment expected shortly, officials have encouraged all beneficiaries to promptly complete the required steps to avoid delays in receiving their financial assistance.
