Mumbai: As part of a nationwide tribute to India’s armed forces following the successful Operation Sindoor, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday led a spirited Tiranga Yatra in Thane. The rally, organized in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, saw a massive turnout of citizens expressing solidarity with the military.

Standing tall in an open jeep, waving the Indian Tricolour, Shinde stirred patriotic fervour among the crowd. “Pakistani terrorists wiped off the ‘sindoor’ of our sisters in Pahalgam. They were given a befitting reply through #OperationSindoor. The Operation has been successful,” Shinde declared. Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added, “Wahan se goli chalegi, yahan se gola chalega.”

“I express my deepest gratitude to all three services of the country as well as PM Narendra Modi. The PM backed the jawans of our armed forces and supported the sentiments of the countrymen. We had never had such a Prime Minister,” Shinde said, as chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoed through the streets.

The Tiranga Yatra, which is being held from May 13 to 23 across India, was announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the launch of Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory mission that eliminated over 100 terrorists across Pakistan-occupied territories.

Echoing similar sentiments, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off a ‘Bharat Shaurya Tiranga Yatra’ in Lucknow. Praising the Indian armed forces, he said, “The operation sent a clear message to the world — we do not provoke anyone, but if provoked, we will not spare anyone.” Taking a direct swipe at Pakistan, he warned, “This is a path of destruction they have chosen, and it will only bring ruin to them.”

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami too launched a ‘Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra’, lauding the Indian military’s swift response. “With valour, courage, and precise strategy, the Indian armed forces, under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, led a decisive counter-offensive and destroyed nine terrorist bases nurtured by Pakistan, forcing the Pakistan army to fall to its knees,” Dhami stated.

He further added, “The people of India have demonstrated unity and integrity by standing with our Army and country.”
