Patna: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav paid emotional tribute to BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz, who was martyred following cross-border shelling by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s RS Pura sector.
While addressing reporters at a condolence gathering in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav said, “We are all proud of him. He sacrificed his life for the people of India. Brave armed forces are guarding us, and that’s why we are able to sleep peacefully.”
Sub-Inspector Imteyaz, a native of Bihar, was deployed along the sensitive RS Pura border when Pakistani forces resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling late Saturday night. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a legacy of courage and sacrifice.
Yadav, visibly moved by the news, highlighted the contribution of soldiers like Imteyaz and called for greater recognition and support for their families. “This is not just a loss to the BSF or Bihar, but to the entire nation. His supreme sacrifice reminds us of the heavy cost of defending our borders,” he added.
He also urged the central government to ensure strict diplomatic and military response to continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan. “Our tolerance should not be mistaken for weakness. Our jawans’ blood must not be shed in vain,” he asserted.
