New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday reaffirmed her government’s commitment to uninterrupted electricity supply in the capital and assured full cooperation with the Centre’s latest directive for nationwide emergency preparedness drills.

While inaugurating a new substation, CM Gupta highlighted the use of advanced technology in enhancing the city’s power infrastructure. “The Delhi government is committed to providing 247 electricity to the people of Delhi… It is a substation of a newer technology. It suits the surroundings of Delhi,”* she said.

The new substation is expected to play a key role in addressing peak-hour demands and reducing transmission losses in high-density urban zones.

CM Gupta also responded to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ recent directive to conduct mock drills across the country to enhance emergency response systems. “Delhi is fully prepared for it. The people of Delhi and the government are with the country, and we are following everything directed by the central government,” she said, emphasizing coordination between the state and central authorities.
