Deoria: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a blistering attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) during a rally in Deoria, accusing its leaders of prioritizing family politics and issuing statements that, in his words, echo the tone of Pakistan’s propaganda.

Speaking at the public meeting ahead of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Adityanath said, “They (SP) only talk about the development of their own family and remain confined to it. When the terrorist attack on tourists happened in Pahalgam on the 22nd, it became difficult to distinguish whether the statements coming from Samajwadi Party leaders were actually theirs or those of a spokesperson from Pakistan…”

The Chief Minister was referring to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where multiple tourists were killed, sparking national outrage and a political blame game. Adityanath alleged that instead of condemning terrorism in clear terms, SP leaders issued ambiguous remarks that could be misconstrued as sympathetic to anti-India elements.

He further accused the Samajwadi Party of neglecting national interest and focusing only on dynastic politics. “SP has never been about the people, only about one family and its fortunes,” Adityanath claimed.

The remarks have drawn strong reactions from SP leaders, who slammed the Chief Minister for “trying to politicize a national tragedy” for electoral gains. “We condemned the attack and mourned the loss of innocent lives. The BJP is twisting facts to stir emotions during elections,” an SP spokesperson said in response.
