New Delhi: The Congress party has intensified its criticism of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey over his recent controversial remarks targeting the judiciary, particularly Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna. Party spokesperson Shama Mohammed urged the Chief Justice to initiate action against Dubey, warning that failure to do so could set a dangerous precedent for future attacks on the judicial system.

Mohammed also called on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take internal disciplinary action against the Godda MP, including his expulsion from the party. The Congress party believes that the MP’s statements pose a direct threat to the independence of the judiciary and could contribute to growing tensions within the democratic framework of the country.

The controversy stems from Dubey’s recent allegations suggesting that the Supreme Court was contributing to religious unrest and interfering with legislative matters. His comments have sparked widespread backlash, with many accusing him of undermining the authority of the apex court.

In her response, Mohammed underlined the Congress party’s longstanding concerns regarding threats to constitutional values and democratic institutions. She warned that inaction from both the judiciary and the ruling party could embolden similar attacks in the future.
