Pune: Following the extradition of 26/11 terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, spoke on the significance of this development in the ongoing investigation. He remarked, “Who is the mastermind behind 26/11? We have made several efforts to investigate this. Now that this person has been caught, we will learn, after his arrival; who guided him, why it was done, and what the motive was. Based on that, we can determine our future course of action, take necessary steps to ensure maximum safety and security for the people, and work towards maintaining peace and prosperity for all.”

Pawar’s comments come after news broke that Rana, one of the key suspects in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, had been extradited to India. This move is seen as a crucial step in unravelling the full scale of the attack, which resulted in the deaths of over 170 people and injuries to hundreds more. The authorities hope to use the interrogation of Rana to pinpoint the mastermind behind the attack and to understand the deeper motivations behind the planning and execution of such a devastating act.
