Srinagar: In a noteworthy effort to guide young students towards a successful future, the Handwara police conducted a career guidance and counselling program at Government Boys High School, Magam on Wednesday. The program aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and strategies to excel in academics and competitive examinations.
The session was attended by students from Classes 9 and 10, along with school staff and media representatives. Officers from Handwara police engaged with the students, sharing valuable insights into academic planning and career opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on the significance of developing a strong foundation during middle and high school years to excel in competitive exams.
The officers advised students to focus on NCERT books, prioritize conceptual understanding over rote learning, and cultivate habits of consistent hard work and dedication. They underscored that perseverance and discipline are key to achieving success, with no shortcuts available.
The session also provided an overview of major competitive exams, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Public Service Commissions (PSCs), and other government job examinations. Guidance on choosing optional subjects and effective preparation strategies were among the key topics discussed.
