Patna: A fresh political war of words has erupted in Bihar after Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi hit back at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for his comments on elderly politicians. Criticizing Yadav’s remark about Bihar needing a younger leadership, Manjhi asserted that age brings strength and experience in politics, while questioning Tejashwi’s own capabilities.

Speaking to reporters, Manjhi said, “In politics, the older you get, the stronger your personality becomes. Youths have energy, but experience matters. Tejashwi Yadav calls himself young, but does he have any capability? Is he the only youth? And how does he think he can replace Amit Shah or Nitish Kumar? The NDA has many capable young leaders too. The Mahagathbandhan only wants to grab power.”

The controversy began when Tejashwi Yadav, during a rally in Patna, attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating that the state needs a fresh start instead of being led by a “khatara gaadi” (outdated vehicle). He argued that at 75, Nitish Kumar is too old to govern effectively, adding that the people of Bihar are “fed up” after giving him 20 years in power.

Yadav further predicted that the NDA government in Bihar will collapse in 2025, calling the recent cabinet expansion the “last” under Nitish Kumar. He also accused the CM of losing credibility and inducting tainted leaders into his cabinet.
