New Delhi: A report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has revealed that urban development, the Public Works Department (PWD), and the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) were the most frequently discussed topics during the seventh Delhi Assembly. The analysis spans sessions held between February 2020 and December 2024 and provides key insights into legislative priorities, MLA performance, and assembly operations.

During this period, the Delhi Assembly convened 20 sessions, averaging 15 sitting days per year. The fifth session of 2024 was the longest, with 21 sittings between February 15 and April 8.

The findings, based on replies to RTI queries by ADR and Delhi Election Watch, also shed light on MLA attendance and participation. Among the 70-seat assembly, Krishna Nagar legislator S.K. Bagga recorded the highest attendance at 99%. Other notable performers included Som Dutt (97%) and Abdul Rehman (96%).

The report highlights the assembly’s legislative focus, indicating the significance of urban and infrastructural issues in addressing Delhi’s growing population and governance challenges.
