Sporting spirit shines as Palaash and Pareesha CCIs conclude events in Kupwara

Srinagar: The sports activities organized for the children of Palaash and Pareesha Child Care Institutions (CCIs) concluded successfully Tuesday in Kupwara.

The event, held under the Mission Vatsalya initiative, was organized by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU). It featured a variety of indoor and outdoor games, including chess, carrom, yoga, tug of war, volleyball, badminton, 100m sprint, long jump, discus throw, and shot put. Children from both institutions participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their talents and promoting the spirit of teamwork.

To recognize their efforts and encourage participation, trophies, medals, and certificates were distributed among the children during the concluding ceremony. The prizes were presented by District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Hidaitullah Mir, along with officials from the DCPU, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and CCIs.

Speaking on the occasion, DCPO Hidaitullah Mir highlighted the importance of such initiatives. “These events not only help in building confidence and self-esteem among children but also promote a sense of healthy competition and teamwork. They play a crucial role in the overall development of children in child care institutions,” he stated.

The event was widely appreciated by the children and staff of both institutions. It reflected the DCPU’s commitment to ensuring the holistic development and well-being of children in care homes through recreational and developmental activities.
